GAY VEGAS

The gay side of Las Vegas is not quite what many would think. You see the ads for the sexy side of the city. The infamous catch phrase "What happens in vegas, stays in vegas". Of course this propaganda is aimed at the str8 community.

Those of us who live here know that with a population of around 2 million now, the famous 10% number tells you we should see gay people all over the place. Where are these 200,000 people? Who knows. This is a city of the most hidden gay population you will most likely see for a famous liberal city.

However, there is gay fun to be had here.

We have 2_bathhouses_and_a_large_number_of_gay_bars & Businesses. This is a 24-hr city therefore there is no last call here. Each bar has its own style. I list as current a list as possible in the above link. The bars seem to get busy around 11pm here. Probably because of the 24-hr nature of the city. Popularity varies by night.

Vegas has now grown up a bit from last year when I spoke here about how we had no Go-Go dancing bars.
I will post the name of the Bar when I check with friends on which one(s) it is. Apparently the Gipsy and FreeZone have go-go boys/girls

Though the age of consent in Nevada is 16 (Yes this has been verified, so those who tell you different are not doing their homework), it does not mean a 16 year old can get into the bars and bathhouses. Sorry guys. Just can't happen. Also. This age of consent only applies to non-teachers. If you are an educator DO NOT PLAY WITH YOUNGSTERS.

Considering that vegas is not a very OUT city, the other often asked question is "Where are the cruisy spots". Well of course there are many of those. Including bookstores and parks. Personally I would consider that method of "hooking up" riskier in Vegas than most cities and suggest meeting people at the bars shown on the link above. But there are services and publications that give you the cruisy spots. Be careful and be safe. This is not as gay friendly a city as you would hope.

Lake Mead does have a Gay Nude Beach. It is quite easy to locate.

The famous question from many visitors is about legalized prostitution.  Yes, but only in the rural counties. Clark County (Las Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno) do not have legalized prostitution. The Closest whore house is approximately 70 miles away in neighboring Nye County. I know of no Gay whore houses in Nevada.

Of course many of us travel and love to find the places to eat. Even locals, it is nice to know of good places (high end thru fast food) that we can go to and get a nice meal. Of course there are lots more. These seem to be quite popular though. MANHUNT and GAY.COM seems to be the most popular in my experience.
